Insurgent Archives From The Secret City narrates a collection of photographs, periodicals and publications documenting San Diego’s antiwar movement within the military from 1969 to 1972. Supported by eight years of research and interviews with elder activists, Apodaca accompanies long-forgotten archival treasures with his own written interpretations. The artist revisits this movement as a strategy for anti-imperialist organizing by creating a provocative template for the present.

Respaldado por ocho años de investigación y por entrevistas con activistas veteranos, Apodaca acompaña estas imágenes de archivo, por mucho tiempo olvidadas, con textos de su autoría que contextualizan estos materiales.
